The silent, but strong and kind type Officialy his name is Yasutora Sado but his friends call him Chad, this is a nickname he got because Ichigo (his Best Friend and Main Character of Bleach) misread his name-tag when they first met. Chad is a large 15-year-old boy who has an apparent affinity for cute, small things. He is extremely strong; he seems relatively unphased when hit by things such as cars and I-beams. He attends Karakura High School and is friends with Ichigo, Kojima, and Asano. He is very intelligent and ranks highly in the class.
Characteristics
Chad is a teenager of Mexican descent. He is extremely tall and looks much older than he really is. Standing at 6'6'' with bulky lean muscle mass. Chad usually wears either his school uniform, a Hawaiian shirt, or a plain white purplish shirt with a red stripe (during the Soul Society saga). He has a tattoo on his left shoulder which reads 'Amore e Morte' (love and death in Italian) and consists of a heart, snake and angel wings around the heart.
Sado has a very deep commitment to his Abuelo to keep his promise only to fight to protect other. He also has a deep commitment to his friends to protect them whenever he can, and to the best of his ability. Sado will go to his breaking point to save a friend's life. He is very protective of his friends and is extremely loyal to them, especially Ichigo after he helped Chad protect his coin. He is very quiet and also very intelligent, scoring 11th out of his whole class of over 300 students. He is enerally untalkative and never fights back against anything, really, so he is often on the receiving end of jokes .Chad does have one weakness, however, cute things like small animals, Kon and cursed parakeets (lol). He has a very kind heart and a extreme care for others. He often risks his life to protect others.
Abilities
He is also extremely tough, demonstrated in an early episode where he is hit by a falling steel girder, and soon after suffers a head-on motorcycle collision, but still has energy to carry the drive to the hospital.
Chads right arm is coated in black armor with two deadly prongs jutting from his shoulder and a white stripe running from his shoulder to the tips of his fingers. This arm can literally crush anything that threatens the security of all he holds dear. To give you an idea of the sheer power that his right arm produces, let's just say that he dispatched a hollow with a single punch, a team of shinigamis with a single punch, and Tatsuhusa Enjyouji, 3rd seat of the 8th Division, with a single punch. But, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, which is the unbelievable energy drained from his hardened body. Before his training with Yoruichi, he was only able to land two punches without passing out, but by the time he squares off with Shunsui Kyouhaku, Captain of the 8th Division, he can piston his arm almost a dozen times before his body collapses.
History
Sado is originally from Japan but his parents died when he was young so he moved to Mexico to live with he grandfather, whom he refers to as Abuelo. This was not a happy time for Sado. He was very angry and violent. His ill temper, in combination with his size, lead him to beat up people who annoyed him. Abuelo tried to teach Sado that fighting was not good and to be peaceful and only fight to protect yourself. It didn't work at first The parents of the kids Sado bullied decided to take revenge on him and all attacked him one day. Abuelo stepped in between Sado and the angry mob and, like stone, took all the attacks for Sado. Sado took this example well and was motivated to follow Abuelo's advice to only fight to protect others regardless of danger to himself. Sado was given a coin by his grandfather to symbolize his vow to protect and after Abuelo died, Sado took the vow to heart.
When some thugs beat him up and took the coin his Abuelo gaved him, Ichigo arrived to reclaim it for him, and they made a promise to eachother; Ichigo said because Chad wouldn’t fight for himself, he would fight for him. But only if Chad did the same for him.Chad also attends Karakura with Ichigo, Ishida, Orihime, and Rukia. Chad's love of all things small and fluffy forced him to look after a cursed parakeet, Shibata Yuichi. His sturdiness was proven when the hollow following the soul trapped in the parakeet dropped an iron girder on him, which he caught. The next day, he was involved in two traffic accidents, one of which left him with a massive hollow bruise on his back. He ran away from the Kurosaki family clinic to stop them from getting hurt by the hollow, but he didn't get very far. Ichigo used Reiraku (spirit threads) to track him down but had to take Karin home when she turned up sick. From then on, he was left with a severely weakened Rukia in charge of protecting him from Shrieker, the hollow that was after them. He showed his own strength during this fight by landing a punch and an electricity pole on him,sorta dumb luck, and then continued the fight with Rukia, throwing her up to Shrieker despite the fact that he couldn't see the hollow. He went on to try to beat up the hollow until Ichigo arrived and destroyed the hollow. When Yuichi was freed from his imprisonment in the parakeet, Chad’s memories of the incident were erased, but he has since remembered.
Not long after that incident, when Ishida Uryuu challenged Ichigo and released the hollow bait, Chad wound up saving Ichigo’s little sister Karin from a hollow he could almost see. She helped him by acting as his eyes, and his desire to protect her helped awaken his dormant spiritual powers that manifested in the bizarre arm armor that he now uses. He defeated the hollow, however, releasing only two blasts made him collapse. After Karin ran to get her father to help him, Urahara showed up and took him to Urahara’s Shouten (shop) where he had also brought Inoue Orihime. He told them that they had been given the key (Sky Crests were they called by Tessai) to a door that had been locked until just then, and told them that they had the option of ignoring it or opening the door. After witnessing Ichigo and Ishida fight a Menos Grande they both chose to open that door and were put into training with Yoruichi in her cat form. He trained to gain control over his power and to be able to shoot out more blasts.
He went to Soul Society with no doubt in his mind that he wanted to keep his promise to Ichigo and to find out why he had been given his power. Until his meeting with the captain of the Eighth Division Kyouraku Shunsui, Chad traveled through Soul Society unscathed and was a large part of the defeat of the Shinigamis of the Gotei 13, including the Third Seat Shinigami of the Eighth Division. After his defeat at the hands of Shunsui, he was transported to a cell in the Fourth Division headquarters and received treatment for his wounds. After Inoue and 11th captain Zaraki Kenpachi rescued him, he went to where Ichigo was fighting Byakuya but he found himself not powerfull enough to be of any help to Ichigo.
Shortly after he returned to the human world with his friends with the exception of Rukia who had decided to stay in Soul Society. Upon his return to the material world, Chad and Orihime were the first to purposely come upon Ulquiorra and Yami, the first two Arrancar to appear. Chad protected Orihime from two Arrancar, as she is not suited for battle. However, this didn't last for long as Yami cut off his right arm. Ichigo came in to help them but was also defeated in the end, they were all saved by Urahara and Yoruichi but after a short battle they went back to Hueco Mundo saying they had all hte information they needed. Chad spent approximately a day and a half being healed by Inoue's Souten Kisshun, a surprisingly long time for her to maintain this considering he wasn't nearby. Once his arm was completely reattached, he left the hiding place only to be attacked by one of the Arcannar again during Grimmjaw's attack. Ichigo stopped him from being killed but it was at this point he that realized that he hadn't been able to uphold his part of the promise they made. Once the attack was over, he ran away to request training with Urahara so that he could become stronger and would be able to uphold the promise. However, it was Renji that he was put into training with, as Urahara concluded that someone with a bankai would be the best person for the job, Urahara couldn’t train Chad himself because his bankai’s power wasn’t fit for the training Chad needed (well atleast this is what Urahara said, it doesn’t take a genius to figure that he lies about alot of things). Since then he has been training with Renji against Zabimaru and has gained more strength and stamina, although why exactly his power manifested in the way it did is still unknown. It does seem that Urahara knows what it is but it will probably be revealed later on in the story. When Urahara tells Inoue was kidnapped to Hueco Mundo, and Ichigo had decided to go save her by himself, Chad decided he would come along. Later that night Ishida first appears telling he’s also coming, next one to enter is Ichigo completely suprised to see them. Ichigo first tells them it’s too dangerous and that they should stay but before he’s completely finished Chad shows a bit of his new power against Ichigo, the armor around his right arm has got a new look so it propably underwent a transformation as a Zanpaktou is released for example. Ichigo is totally suprised by Chad’s new power and so Chad comes along
