Spyware agravation.

As the title implies. ever hear tell of the "My Web Search" stuff? it's pretty messed up stuff and is hard to get rid of. My idiot little cousin got at my pc and installed this saying look Shane you have cool screen savers now...... So now iI am trying to get rid of it but the dealo is it's hard even for someone with a fair bit of computer knowledge such as my self. So I turn to someone for help. I have code stuff starter and when i disable the startups (yes i uninstalled it but it leaves stuff behind *agree face* with revo uninstaller i may add), they keep popping back up. so now im using the windows os itself to keep them at bay. says its in program files but there's no folder there for it. I have show system files and hidden files on and still nothing. Anybody know how i rid myself of this fiend?

ok fist off what OS are you running ?
- Windows XP home ( x86 , 64bit )
- Windows XP professional ( x86, 64bit )
- Windows XP media center
- Windows 2003
- server 2003
- Windows Vista ( please specify which version of vista you have )
- any other OS not listed here i may also be able to help you with. i have removed My web Search form all the OS's listed above sevrial times. with no help other then the tools the operating system supply's. feel free to either PM , post reply, or for a speedy response E-mail / add my to MSN ( ghf(underscore)2002ATmsn(dot)com )

My OS as listed in the properties of my computer is:

Microsoft Windows XP
Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

I have simialr proble. I have no cpu intel at all!!! I just turn it on. I just scanned my pc though and I got like 34 infections!!!My computer has AIDS!!!!!!!!!!

Go into your Anti-Virus and anti-spyware and see if you can schedule a boot scan for each (meaning before the OS your using starts and loads the files into the memory you can get rid of the infection. Avast Anti-virus and Spybot search and destroy (anti-spyware/ maleware) are good for this.

I rebooted the system but still had the viruses. I scanned them and stil cant get rid of em. I need more detailed instructions.................
I downloaded AVG for sum proitection though.Just figured out how to start a virus scan etc last night.

download avast, and download spybot search and destroy, they both blow avg free out fo the water. And for the love of god i did not say to just reboot. I said schedule a boot scan through your protection. THEN reboot. the PC will automatically go into the boot scan before it loads the Operating System, and it should detect the infection. delete the infection and then boto windows back up. that's about as simple as I can explain what to do besides doing it for you.

Well doing it for me sure sounds good!!!
I will copy down whatr ur saying and give it a shot. As long as I can downlaod that avast for free and that spy bot for free i'll try it out!!

It's all free..... And anyways, back to my problem of the seeming un-removable spyware crap lol.
