hi every one jsut wondering if theres any programers here that know php , MYsql , or cgi

i need to make a fourm and im not sure witch lang im going to use most of my site is in php / Mysql database any suggestions?

witch is easyer / better to make one in?

what is the bleach fourm made in?

you can find ready made code for forums if you look for a while

uhm, it's easier to use one that's already made. The one which we use is vBulletin. If you plan to build it from scratch you have to think of all the features and security for it. o.o I believe you have to pay for the license of vBulletin. There are also free forums such as phpbb2 or 3 then smf... You could find a lot of them. o.o

bravenet.com is a good resource for anything as well, i think they have a form maker tool as well.

the whole idea behind this is the learning part and also later on if i want to change somthing about my fourm i will be able o becase , well i made it so i ask again does any one have a perfured lang? with out pointing me to web site that will just make one for me


jsut putting this out there i already am a python / ruby / html / java programer i like to make things my self

Well programming is one thing web designing is another plus in order to make a forum you will probably need javascript or asp html and php are not enough. and plus you'll have to e extra careful with security so I still believe that ready made code is a better choice if this is your first time.

If you want to make it my yourself. I think you need to know php, mysql and javascript (not that important). However, you will need extensive knowledge with php and mysql. The thing is that you have to build everything from scratch, that means you will have to know what you want it to be or what direction you want it go to.

Once, you get a basic forum layout... You will have to incorporate various modifications and additions to it. o.O Like, how you want organize the profile, posts, topics, moderator options, etc...

It might take a while to do it. o.o Good Luck with it though. ^^

i already know quite a bit of php jsut not enough to call my elf a php programer and i know enough of mysql

this isnt the first forum that ive implemented on a website and also for security lol ive already written that part of it and it pritty damn good .
