Making your computer just right

What do you guys do to make your computer just right for you? Do you add software, hardware or both? I just add a ton of software to make my computer feel comfortable to me. I have Windows XP, but because I like Macs better, I've downloaded a Windows Dock and widgets. It's a lot easier than the taskbar and makes my computer look a lot more organized, which I need to do for my own sanity. So, as I asked before, what do you guys do to make your computer fit your wants and needs?


P.S. If anybody is wondering about the Windows Dock, the program is called Stardock. There is also Rocket Dock, though.

Personally, I take giant electromagnets to mine to enhance it's memory. I do this at least once a month. XD

Well to keep my laptop from crashing I punched it at just the right spot to make the fan kick back on *yes I am serious I am like the fonze when it comes to computers* dunno if that counts.

To make my desktops right for me I suppose I just add or swap enough hardware to make it able to preform smoothly for the software I use, and I pimp out the desktop to the point where its hard to tell if I am using windows. I also love macs but a lot of the software I need is on windows only so I'm kinda stuck using it.

Well, lets see, when My laptop still worked, I used to have to put it in the freezer while I surfed the net...lmfao...the fan burnt out, and well, I didn't want to take it apart.....lol...oh, on a side note, I decided to reformat the harddrive the other day, and I got it to start up, but it was still on fire...., so I took it all apart....lmfao...got the fan out, so I might be buying a new fan sometime soon....we will see though.

Hehe. Nice. I usualy reformat my pc every month, just to feel the cleaniless o' my pc. I install Microsoft Zune theme (black theme) and set any realistic lookin hi-res pic (from digitalblasphemy.com) as desktop wallpaper in my account. Installed autopatcher xp last month, to make me feel i hav completed everything needed to make xp look heathly. I get freaked out when i see any file with 'untitled name', always give every file whu need a proper name a name.

You seriously didn't put in the freezer...did you? I always got the idea that was bad for the poor thing...

The fact that you do this scares me...I'm so glad I'm not a computer, as I wouldn't want to be "Abused".

Well, I get my favorite Bleach wallpaper, and use that as my desktop wallpaper. Then, I install Mozilla Firefox, because that's the best Browser out there, and Internet Explorer sucks (No Offense). I get all my usual add-ons, like Foxy Tunes, Minimize to Tray (So Firefox is always open). Then, I get Mozilla Thunderbird, (Cuz I am too lazy to check my email in Firefox). After that, I set it so that Firefox is my default Browser and Thunderbird is my default Email Client, and disable access to Internet Explorer. After that, I get rid of everything on my desktop, like the icons and stuff. Then I get Yahoo Widgets, and download the widget called "Desktop Favorites". And then I install all my games and other software, and then the computer is MINE. All mine. Lol.

i just install software. got DesktopX by Stardock (ye stardock are amazing, got CursorXP by them too - all the free versions cos they dnt have time limits) so my desktop looks amazing (way better than any windows or mac) and i just started by buying a good comp in the first place so im sorted out hardware-wise too
