Possible PS3 price cut

There has been much talk that Sony may be forced to drop the price on the PS3 by as much much as $100 by August. Many industry analysts are saying that if Sony doesn't drop there prices the PS3 may become a thing of the past. With sales of the Wii and Xbox 360 towering over the PS3, Sony is bankrupting themselves. There has even been quotes from President and CEO of Activision-Blizzard that if the PS3 doesn't cut prices that they may be forced to drop support of the console. You know what that means. Bye bye Call of Duty on the PS3.

Another question I have is that if Sony drops the PS3 price to $299 would you be more interested in buying a PS3. As for me if they drop the price you can expect me to buy one.

hahhahahaha I knew it.... PS is going down the tubes... well actually if certain games would come out I might get a PS3... but if PS3 fails then what would their game developers do I wonder? would they opt to go to XB360, or would they hang on to the failing franchise and go down with them? since the Wii sucks ass when it comes to power gaming... hell if PS3 goes under before the games come out and they switch over to XB360, that is fine by me... less for me to have to buy...

I heard the rumor that the price cut would be announced at the Tokyo Game Show since it wasn't at E3. If its true and it does go down then I am buying it, my main reason being mostly because of the Final Fantasy exclusives. Still though Sony's F'd either way there price to build ratio has been jacked since the get go.

well sony is already losing money everytime they sell a ps3 (like 100 bucks or so), but that can be recooped in game sales after like 4 or 5, I think the PS3 finally sold more units that the Wii in japan just a couple months ago (i think during a quater or month cant remember ill try to find the article, not overall sales). im still hanging onto my ps2

if the ps3 goes down the tubes you might see new titles released for the ps2 and 360, would be kind of funny

heh already some of the third party developers that used to be PS exclusive on their releases have already gone over to the "box" side...

Well a lot went multiplateform, but another bigger lot are new and exclusive to the ps3, but activision is just bluffing, they won't stop making games for the ps3 cuz they are still making money, not the same amount like on the 360 but they are still making money!

Yeah, a 100 bucks less is a very big price cut...and its about damn time they did it too...I'm going to buy it too needless to say, i want my dose of God of War 3...the only good game on Sony left...

The price cut really has been long overdue. Sadly I bought mine back in 2007. But at least i got the backwards compatibility. None of the newer ones have that.
