Default Dragonaut File Format? - 05-03-2008

Episodes 1 and 3 are in the AVI format, and I can play those back just fine, but all of the other episodes (2, 4-25) are in mp4 format, but quicktime refuses to playback the files. I convert all of my files into mp4, so I can put it in iTunes, and play it back on my ipod, or on other computers across the house. However, with the mp4 Dragonaut files, no program that I have except for VLC will play them back. Even from VLC, I can't convert them into a different format. When I put the Dragonaut mp4 files into compressor or iSquint, or any of my other media conversion programs, the program coughs up with errors related to the files. Any idea about what's going on here? should I go ahead and torrent the dragonaut series and hope that they are AVI files?

btw: I'm using a mac for this...

Well, I am pretty sure it has something to do with the codecs... If you can play in VLC then it indicates that your mac is missing some codecs. o.o It's really difficult to provide support as I am not a genuine mac user. _-" However, I have used macs before but not to that extent...
