[Resolved] Subs wont show

Well, this doesn't really involve BN, but I wasn't sure where exactly to make this.

But anyway, I downloaded a show from a different site, but the thing is, the subs wont show. I'm using Windows Media Player, so I think that may be the problem.

The files are .mkv

Or you just forgot to activate the subtitles from the player menu. Yeah, happened to me once too xD

For K-Lite- Free-Codecs.com : Download K-Lite Codec Pack 5.1.0 FULL, K-Lite Codec Pack 5.1.0 STANDARD, K-Lite Codec Pack 5.1.0 BASIC : K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools

This one does not come pre-installed but you have to install it yourself. So if you have installed it, you would know. If you are able to play some other files in .mkv then its not the problem with the program installation. If the Mkv file was not supported, it would not show the video itself. Just check the program files from your system file to see whether you have any codec pack downloaded.

For activating subtitles in WMP- Play-> Caption/subtitles--> English (or whatever)

So, obviously I didn't understand shit. Here is what it looks like:

I've tried everything there, softsubbed, hardsubbed and bla bla, it just doesn't show up. >_> I downloaded that K-lite thingy as well.

Huh? If you have installed K-lite, it should have worked. Okay then use the Media Player Classic (comes with the K-Lite) to play the .mkv file to see if it works (it bloody should because that one plays any format known to mankind). And as you said if you have tried everything, then don't know what happened. From the screenshot, it shows that there are subtitles in the vid so its definately not RAW.
