u believe he loves himself so much that he was afraid to try it on himself that is why he did all these experiments,and he got tousin and gin along to try the perfected procedure on them so he can 100%sure,after all he doesn't wants to die by a mistake, i think he believes he can do anything he wants just because he has an illusion technique to help him avoid unwanted consequences,so why not do anything he wishes for as long as he is sure he is bulletproof
