Banners and Animated GIFs

I was wondering how to create my own banners and animated GIFs. If someone could tell me the program to use and somebasic pointers, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

If you want to make banners then use Photoshop, GIMP, Paint.net, etc... and for gifs use Illustrator.

For both banners and gifs, you have to have Photoshop Cs3 Extended. The alternative for gifs is Image Ready 7.0 (comes with Photoshop 7.0) and VirtualDub (free). But i personally recommend Photoshop Cs3 Extended. Its pricey but good. PM me for alternative 'buying' source

As for the pointers, i suggest you pick up some banner tuts online. There are gazillions of them on the net so they won't be hard to find. The best source in my view is DeviantArt. My personal recommendation is that you mess around with the photoshop, u know randomly and all to get the feel of all the ups and downs. When u get the hang of it, you can then use the the tutorials. I did the same.

oh man....why is it always Photoshop......those are expensive.....
I noticed VirtualDub but, are there any other .gif illustration programs that are free?

You know, if you STILL don't wanna get photoshop our way....then you could just get GIMP. That's free and I'd say it's the next best thing...at least apparently it is

Photoshop you pay cash i do not like it i use a Easy GIF Animator and i just got Paint.NET cuse looking at a comment on cnet made my mind up and how good is my English and hear look for your safe this guy was on hear but idk why not on hear now but look at the comment he did i do not no if it the one on yt or what but he made my mind up on geting it Paint.NET - Reviews and free Paint.NET downloads at Download.com and if u like to get it Paint.NET - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com

because people forget about fireworks. in regards to animation capabilities, fireworks destoys photoshop hands down, but everybody always goes with photoshop because its a more familiar name and nobody wants to expiriment with its step-cousin program.
