Default Hellsing - Mar. 17th, 2009, 06:19 PM

Hellsing was pretty boss imo. Just finished it. Interesting i can't want to see the ultimate rendition of it, however, I do raise the question as for the hellsing anime. As it follows the manga for a bit, what is up witht he huge side turn it takes, i mean i know that anime and manga arn't exactally the same and all for the most part, but this is anime is seriously way off picking daises in left feild somewhere when compared to the manga....Well at least Ultimate seems to be following the manga 100% thus far.
however to be critical of this now to balance it, though i do enjoy it, the artwork gets a little over the top at times and can be tricky to figure our whats happening at a glimpse, mostly during the final battle of Alacard and Anderson. I won't reveal much about it as to not spoil, and i use the term final battle as it is their final battle together in the manga, but i wil allow that it is not the eng of the manga as there are other players in it as well.

over all i give hellsing
7/10, and i am being pretty critical of it. I would say wait for ultimate to finish and watch that all the way through, read it if you can't wait though, but as i said it has benn following it nearly 100% (Actually closer to 93%)

I wasn't a big fan of the anime, so I never checked out the manga. A lot of manga take huge turns from anime... typically when they have a designated ending point (not everything can carry on for 700 episodes like Bleach will). This happens pretty much all the time with monthly manga, as they just can't keep far enough ahead of the anime (FMA, Claymore, and I believe Soul Eater are relatively recent examples). If the manga is that much better for Hellsing, maybe I'll check it out. I liked the style, Alucard was a pretty BA character, Integra was interesting, but I didn't really get the point of the show, and the climax was awful (the dude Alucard fought at the end was a total joke).

i really like the story, the voices arnt great, but at least they dont distract me from what is going on. the art style in both the manga and the anime fluctuates a hell of a lot, so that's a little distracting, but i like the characters and it is an interesting watch/ read
