Plot
When Earth's population drastically increased, humanity led by the United Nations attempted to colonize Mars. During the colonization, they discovered two alien technologies: the Bacillus and the Crusnik nanomachines. The colonists installed the Bacillus in their bodies which transformed them into Methuselahs. They installed the Crusnik in the bodies of four test tube babies: Seth, Cain, Abel and Lilith whose enhanced bodies were the only ones able to survive the procedure.

Continuing wars on Earth eventually led to "Armageddon", the apocalyptic event that happened 900 years before the start of the story, and the colonists returned to Earth to help with rebuilding, but when the colonists returned to Earth, a war broke out between the Methuselahs and the humans who had remained on earth. Abel, Cain, and Seth took the Methuselah's side..while Lilith supported the Vatican, which guarded humanity. During the war, Cain went insane and killed Lilith. In grief, Abel took her body to the Vatican where she was buried. Abel remained at her side, weeping for her, for 900 years.

At the start of the story, the vampiric Methuselahs, still a major political and military force, continue to wage war on the "Terrans", as they call regular humans. The Roman Catholic Church is a major military power determined to protect humans from the Methuselahs, with its seat of power based in the Vatican. The Methuselahs have their capital of Byzantium, which is surrounded by a field of particles to filter out UV radiation, protecting the Methuselah population.

Both groups use "lost technologies", such as airships, missiles, and computers, to engage in a cold war with one another. A third great power, Albion also plays a role in the war with its superior arsenal of lost technology and weapons and higher level of manufacturing ability versus the Vatican. The independent monarchy of Albion is a primarily human country, however the secret of their expertise in lost technology is found in the Ghetto, an underground city of enslaved Methuselah. It is these Methuselah who operate and manufacture the lost technology, but with the death of the Albion Queen, some of the enslaved vampires begin a rebellion for the freedom of all of the Ghetto residents.

Main Character

Abel Nightroad appears to be a clumsy, absent-minded Catholic priest who has bad luck with money and is always hungry. In reality, he is a Crusnik, a vampire with extraordinary powers that can feed on other vampires. Nearly a millennium in age, Abel was created in 2088 A.D. as one of four test tube babies whose bodies were infused with Crusnik nanomachines by the Mars human colonists. Abel once had a hatred for humanity and joined the Methuselah in the war against humans after the Armageddon. During the war between the humans and Methuselah, Abel Nightroad killed seven million humans. Lilith's death during the war caused him to abandon his hatred. He spent 900 years weeping and mourning in Lilith's crypt at the Vatican, until a young Caterina Sforza fled there to escape Methuselah assassins. Abel, realizing that it was his task to continue Lilith's work and defend the humans, saved the young Caterina and chose to live on. He joined the AX at its foundation in May, 3055 A.D.

yay awesome me 2..^^ my fav so far is Abel..or you can call him Crusnik 02..hes so awesome in his crusnik form..but he needs more blood or he wont do good..

I wasn't a fan of this show. I thought the plot was slightly hard to follow, and the ending was rushed. I also wasn't a huge fan of the characters. Abel was the best, but he was really a stock character similar to many we've seen in other shows. Most of the other characters annoyed the crap out of me.

really? i dont see that they was that annoying..some of the characters coule be alittle annoying but they was still good..the most annoying character would be his holiness..why is cuz he cant do anything on his own..he just says bro? sis? umm yes..? anyways other than that this anime is awesome...

yes seth-chan is adorable and shes a crusnik..waaa now who would have tought that..XD..i was suprised when i first saw her as a crusnik..i think it was 03..in the anime..hmm what does those numbers mean..those it mean numbers in timeline..i dont think it is in powers but maybe..cuz i think seth is 03..but im not sure..cant remember good enough..and im a 100% sure that Abel nightroad is crusnik 02..

I've only seen two or three episodes and couldn't really latch onto the plotline, but it seemed like a really good show, with all that gothic-era stuff.

the plotiline can be complicated..but if you watch more episodes you will understand better..yes its kinda a gothic-era vampire period..im at episode 17 or around there..and so far its really good..

I'm still watching it, only on the third episode. So far I like it, I think it needs more action though, then again I'm not that far into it yet.
