It's possible that the Full Metal Alchemist Anime was concluded with the movie, and this is essentially a new show, unrelated to the previous anime, that relaunches the entire story and animates the manga through its conclusion (which appears to be coming within the next couple years).

there is no way ,they are going to complete the old one ,since it has already finished by the movie ,but it is either going to be a completely new story or they are going to start over and follow the manga as it is
