calling all anime pros

alright heres another anime i dont know but i need help. theres this anime i watched as a kid when i was like 6 so around 11 years ago. theres this guy that kinda looks like ryu... idk and i dont know what channel it was. i watched it in the middle of the day.. weird huh?... well the show i think was fighting and stuff and there was blood. theres this one enemy that licks his blade a lot. thats what i remember the most. he looked like he had a pale face and red hair im not too sure about taht. but if u know of an anime which theres a guy who licks his blade that might be it. if you can help me figure what anime this is ill be really grateful since ive been wondering what it was for 11 years. thanks in advance =D

You're going to have to give us a better description than that. Perhaps the year it aired, the channel it aired on, or the plot line. There's multiple anime where characters lick the blood off their blade.

dude,with such description it is almost impossible ,since more than 90%of anime has fights,about 80%have guys with red hair or pale faces and you are not even sure about that,plus the licking the blade thing almost every anime have a character with some sort of crazy attitude ,give us more info,since we can't do miracles,help us help you

My guess: Rurouni Kenshin. Sanosuke dresses like Ryu (see above). It used to come on Cartoon Network on their Toonami block, which I believe was 4-6 or 5-7 or something eastern time, so if you live in a different time zone, it could easily have been middle of the day. Shishio licked his blade a lot, and I'm sure other people did as well (it was a samurai show after all).

If that's not it, then more details would help.

I wonder about this cartoon I saw on Showtime or was it HBO?cant remember which channel.Anyways the guy turned into a cyber machine ninja and cuts people with a light saber kinda weapon. it is green in color.

i also remember some in rurouni kenshin (aka samurai X) licking their blade
its also an old anime that has been shown all over the world so its possible you've seen it on tv.

I also think you might be referring to Rurouni Kenshin and the guy that licked his blade in this anime was Hajime Saito and is pictured below.
