Mysterious and Beautiful Singular Class
----Vampires in the Mangas

From mermaid to the people that flies, from extraterrestrial frogs to the underground wizards, what race we haven’t seen? Of course vampire is one of the race that we are familiar with. Because of his mystery, vampire seems to be an immortal theme in the manga.

In 2000, "the last vampire",a classics that mixes the efforts of famous artist Benkyo Tamaoki, director Hiroyuki Kitakubo, engineer Mamoru Oshii and the Script writer Kenji Kamiyama out.The strong production team makes coldblooedness of vampires performs in a helpness and sad wsyle.Saya is a young girl of Vampire race. The author illustrates human by setting the contradictions of her life experience. And it gives us great inspiration.
A few years later, "BLOOD +",another series, continues the story in a more commercial, more popular way. Not only reduce the heavy theme, also appeared a popular LOLI X Uncle pairs. However, the animation hasn’t gotten great achievement, and its popularity is far less than the other animations in same period.

Apart from the bloody and terror, noble and elegant seem to have become the labels of Vampires. This led them to be the indispensable role who have high popularity in the Shoujo mangas. For example, recent new animation "Vampire Knight" origines from the manga by Hino Matsuri. It’s a story about the heroine and a group of handsome vampire boys. Author sets campus as the background, so that the whole works is more mysterious and comfortable. It also provides an miraculous love environment for adolescents. And the readers who’s used to reading common Shhoujo love manga also feel quite innovative.
.
However, the elegant and noble image of male vampire seems to be rooted so deeply, that makes us lose sight of the women of vampire family. So" Rosario Vampire" tells us that female vampires are not only have very strong power, but also very cute. Even they will fall in love with you,and the progress will very spectacular! In the story, the mode of hero and several heroines,no doubt to make people think of many similar palace comics. But including vampires, the various ethnic girl's palace, common actors perhaps never imagine it.

Of course, there are also some vampires in exception. For example, the heroine of "Karin", she needn’t suck blood,on the contrary, she could increase her blood.

We do not know there are real vampires the world in the end, but as our illusion,Vampire appear in the manga. Its mysterious and beautiful perhaps shows our beautiful fantasy to the unknown fthings.

You forgot one Vampire anime in your lovely Text.. Hellsing..
any way i just love vampier Anime.. from lovely Karin to the more bloody and battle inspired Hellsing..

It is as you say.. vampire seems to be an immortal theme in the manga and Anime..
And i understand why this race is so captivating.. They lure in the dark.. they live on human blood.. they are perfect in every aspect of the boody.. they have a great life span and they have dark mystical powers..
they are the perfect enermy in any Manga/Anime and just as good main character in one too..

Well let me add info on the one book that made Vampires well-known..

Dracula is a 1897 novel by Irish author Bram Stoker, featuring as its primary antagonist the vampire Count Dracula.

Dracula has been attributed to many literary genres including vampire literature, horror fiction, the gothic novel and invasion literature. Structurally it is an epistolary novel, that is, told as a series of diary letters. Literary critics have examined many themes in the novel, such as the role of women in Victorian culture, conventional and repressed sexuality, immigration, colonialism, postcolonialism and folklore. Although Stoker did not invent the vampire, the novel's influence on the popularity of vampires has been singularly responsible for many theatrical and film interpretations throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.

I have as a matter of fact read the Novel.. Did it for a school essay.. Not that good but it was still intresting.. any way this was the Novel that lay the foundation for all vampires today..

the concept of Dracula did not come first from Bram Stoker, it came from Lord Byron who wrote a short story with Mary Shelley (the writer of Frankenstein). Although Shelley did not personally contribute to the concept, she was there to witness the writing. There was some contest on whi will write the best horror story, Byron came up with a blood drinking dude whcih he called 'vampyre'.
Stoker took the blood drinking dude concept, related it to Vlad Tepes of Transylvania (he was a real time guy) and formed Count Dracula.
I read this in a Stephen King book named 'Danse Macabre'. In the book, he discussed old horror books, myths and movies. Any doubts, get the hold of the book.
