Default FMA 2? - Oct. 2nd, 2009, 02:10 PM

Is FMA 2 an actual new story in the
FMA universe? Or is it FMA1 with
some touch ups on graphics and story?

I watched the first episode of FMA2 and
was quite confused. It seemed like it
was just FMA1 with a couple new things
thrown in.

FMA 2 follows the true story line of the FMA manga. The first series was put out when the manga was just a few chapters in, so the first few episodes were similar. So in essence, it's a different series.

If you look carefully, you will find that those who are dissapointed with the new series is simply because they drop it after the 1st few episode (Definitely less than 3).

The new series is so good that the old can never overshadowing it.

Hmm.... Episode 27 has no plot basically.... If only they slow down the pace a abit early, they don't have to waste this episode. Anyway, the manga haven't end yet and it is update once a month only. Just hope they don't change the story in the end like what they did in the previous FMA....

Of course it becomes greater after the plot changes. No one would think that it is good if it is the same old story. But I think the pace is actually quite fast, it didn't slow down even after the plot started changes to manga storyline. This makes me worry as the manga story haven't end yet. I hope they don't change the storyline in last minute again. By the way, which episode are you waiting for?

it has been released ,i was waiting for episode 29 ,and what i meant is that the manga plot is way better that the old anime ,since it is more complicated ,as for the anime atching up to the manga ,i don't think this will happen since the manga will be over in the next 3 chapters max.

I certainly don't think that it will be over in 3 chapters. It is a shounen manga after all.
Spoiler: Manga
They used up almost 2 chapters to 'defeat' Wrath while he is not really dead in the end. In addition, Pride just become stronger and stronger. So I think there will be at least another two chapters in defeating Pride, and another two chapters in defeating their Father (assuming Wrath injuries is bad enough that they won't take long to kill him, and cast asides the fights with all other alchemists who works under Father and their underlings). Then there will be at least 1 chapter to conclude the story of each character.

Meaning, there will be at least 5 chapters before the end. And 5 chapters = 5 months, which is April 2010. By the end of March, they will air episode 50 already, even if they take a new year break.

I really do hope the manga would end soon so that they don't have to change the anime plot again....

Well my fav. character from FMA has made an appearence at last. Zolf Kimblee. Looks different thought and acts different too as well, compared to the first season. Here he is more composed, analyzing compared to the reckless madman from the first season. But i liked the way he looked in the first season.
Anyways question. If this season is going with the manga, at what chapter is the scene that happened in the 32nd episode? I want to read the manga.

I concur that Kimblee is better in the new series than in the old one, Vergil. It's so much easier for me to hate him :-P

Overall though, I think the new series is at least on par with the original anime. I've seriously been tempted to read the manga to find out what happens next, but I think I'm gonna save that till after Brotherhood has finished up. It's easier for me to go back and read the manga for an anime I've already seen than to watch the anime after I've read the manga. Don't ask why...
