Dont know what I am doing wrong with the brushes xD

Yeah, I downloaded some neat grunge brushes, but I dont know how to use them! xD

I found a tutorial that first uses the cloud thingy in the background then uses the same brushes as I did and gets this:



In the tutorial it said to get a cloud bacground then to play with some grunge brushes, he got a result almost like that one over, but when I did it it became like this:





Can anyone see the difference? xD What am I doing wrong?

I would love to help you dude....but thats what happens to me too!xD I think he is playing with colors there though...but still I think we should both wait for someone who knows to tell us

I would suggest that you play around with the mode (Normal, Dissolve, Darken etc...) of the brush before you use it. Or if you paint it on a different layer to the clouds, change the layer mode (try Overlay), or change the opacity of the layer.

firstly, each time u use the brush, do it on a new layer. (by the end ull have quite a lot of layers but u can just merge them afterwards)

secondly, lower the opacity of all of them.

thirdly, change the hue of each layer. (Image--> Adjustments--> Hue/Saturation and click colourise)
