Itachi's secret (spoilers)

It is said in the manga that Itachi's reason why he killed the whole Uchiha clan was because they were planning to take over Konoha, since they are well-known for being the most powerful group. Yes, he didn't kill Sasuke since he wanted him to be stronger and hate him. It's pretty odd really, since I didn't think it was that way... But it actually fit perfectly! What I don't understand is why he joined the Akatsuki in the first place...

he joined akatsuki to better counter an eventual attcak on Konoha should Madara misbehave...remember he promised Itachi not to attack Konoha and in return he would avenge him by killing those who betrayed him?he joined Akatsuki to protect Konoha(that's the best way to know what they are about,right?).Itachi was a "double agent" and a superhero,lol

Well Captain Konoha couldn't stay in Konoha...what else could he have done anyway?What best way to convince Sasuke that he is indeed the bad guy?So that Sasuke could do the whole hating despising and clinging to life?lol See where I'm taking this?

he had to ,to try to protect konoha from madara ,madara himself said that itachi was trying to stop him from within the akatsuki,so he was protecting konoha all along,it wouldn't be a surprise if he used to report to someone from konoha such as jiraya for example ,we never knew the reliable source of info jiraya used to get the akatsuki info from anyway

he joined akatsuki because he knew madara is alive and he have a haunch that madara would be destroying konoha, since originally madara wants to destroy konoha since he feels that their clan was used by the first hokage,maybe because of the uchiha pride.... then he made a deal i think with madara not to harm konoha,.... then madara on the other hand,madara knowing itachi's whole secret, maybe thinks that sasuke would be of better use than him, waited until the day the itachi would die and manipulated sasuke to be his tool to totally destroy konoha, ... but the transferred powers from itachi also became sasuke's protection against madara.....
generally itachi was just a very loving brother and the martyr hero of konoha.... and a genius for sure......... i dunno if a make sense, correct me if im wrong with my opinions....

Itachi gave an ultimatum to Madara that if Itachi helps in destroying the Uchiha clan, then Madara will not harm Konoha. And Itachi joined Akatsuki to protect his village from the inside. I thought this was already explain in the manga. o.o"

itachi couldn't kill his brother, because he loved him too much,
and itachi took many drogs and similary things in order to keep living for sasukes sake.
and to get rid of orocmaru and to give him enogh power for his goals.
and he put back up plan in sasuke (wich failed to kill madara) and in narutu (we still don't know what he put in naruto)

itachi is very similary to kakashi, bouth of them lived in war times and bouth of them were genius and got place in ANBU at very young age, bouth of them lost many importain peoples.

itachi didn't want any more wars so he try to eliminate core of conflict, but he failed to kill his own brother, even trought he killed his best friend for MS.
he tryed to eliminate war itself.

i would agree that itachi joined akatsuki in order to protect konoha.. it would be too sentimental or cheesy if he joined akatsuki because he needed a sense of family.. hahaha...

that's what i think he (or Madara) said in the anime...
