Default sharingan activation - May. 9th, 2009, 09:49 AM

a while ago i was reading some of the old chapters and i notice sth ,when sasuke activated his sharingan for the first time he was protecting naruto from haku's attack, and the same was for obito ,when he awakened his sharingan he was trying to protect kakashi .so i got this theory ,could be that the requirement to awaken the sharingan in the first place ??also when itachi awakens his sharingan ,it was a year after he graduated so it most likely he did it on a mission ,and not while he was in the academy protected environment, but if that was the case does that mean that the maginku sharingan requires the death of the same person the sharingan awakened to protect ???

tell me what do u think about this theory

who died in kakashis case?

When looking at kakashi, it seems as there doesnt need to be someone close to you dying.

Its probably more like there needs to be a certain feeling inside of the sharingan user to awaken the mangekyou.

From the way Madara told his story to Sasuke, it is pretty unclear to from where they have their knowledge about the mangekyou sharingan.

He was forced to kill his brother to awaken the mangekyou, but how did they know about it in the first place?

And to your theory, Sasuke awakened his sharingan as he wanted to protect Naruto while fighting Haku. But then his brother died and he awakened mangekyou

Well considering Obito gave his one remaining Sharingan to Kakashi before he DIED I would say Obito.

Something else to ponder, ever wonder why Kakashi can't "turn off" his red eye? Because it's not his own... SO we know these "eyes" can be transfered. Let the rumours of Naruto getting Sharingan begin!

Haha, I don't know if that would ever happen. Naruto would literally be unstoppable. Can you imagine what a sage-kyuubi-sharingan eye would even look like?

LMFAO i think he would die because of the massive strain those 3 techniques cause on the user xD but that eye would look insane!!!!

as 4 this theory i dont think it actually requires the death of any person or the want 2 protect those u really care for i think the way its activated is by a heightened state of emotion thus it tends to happen when theyre trying 2 protect some1 frm death or when some1 just died

what i meant was that the sharingan get activated for the first time to protect someone ,and killing that someone might be the activation cue for the manginku,in that case "the best friend "

Yea, and Obito for Kakashi also isnt viable, since Obito died long ago, but it is a recent developement that Kakashi has the magenkyou.

He has been in tough situations before (even against Hayabusa in the first Narutoarc) and he never used it.

Something has happened with him in the 3 year between classic and shippuuden.

I would have agreed with that but what about Itachi? His sharingan was activated before he killed of the Uchiha clan. He used it to kill them, didn't he? If anything is relvant, i think its dedication or aggression that activates the sharingan (i'm leaning towards dedication). For instance there have been a lot of instances where dedication has lead to new powers like Naruto is the prime example and others include Sakura.
