Default Where are my good ol ninjutsu fights? - May. 2nd, 2009, 02:09 PM

Hi all

When Naruto started and we first met Kakashi we encountered him as a very strong person!
He was a jouunin one of the best ninjas in Konoho, the copy ninja - amazing.
Then we saw the fight between him and zabuza, amazing, so great with there warter element techs, the chidori and so on.
Some time later we learned what a hokage battle is like.
Oro vs the Third was rly amazing, nice fire and earth elements by the third an evil forbidden summon by oro and then wood and water element techs by the summons.
Great, it was rly cool.
Then the sannin battle, was a summoning battle, was amazing as well.
Then we got a lot of fillers with some weird guys.
And thats the point when i got a little annoyed:
We had boring missions but thats okay what me annoyed was the unique guys.
So many strange bloodline limits, ghosts, and beasts.
Then Naruto went on Naruto Shippuuden, the gaara arc with sasori and deidara was good, Deidaras abilities were unique but cool.
Then the sasuke retreavel arc, kyuubi vs oro.
Oro was fucking strong, the kyuubi couldnt really harm him, he was exausted but it was the first little wtf moment.
Oro just was a lot stronger than 3 years ago.
Thats the first time i had the feeling, naruto becomes DBZ-lik: no limits.
Then we met Hidan and kakazu, both unique abilities but ok can cope with it, because of their immortilaty they can defeat the 2 tails, ok, the fight between kakashi and kakazu was the first one since ages i rly rly enjoyed:
Many common ninjuts fighting, clones and so on.
Then later Pain just appears and beats everyone in Konoha to a pulp, ok with me as well but then he destroys the entire village.. i mean what the fuck?!
A little later he matches the 8 tails of kyuubi easily and talks even about making a bigger chubaku tensei or what ever it was called.
Remember, the 4th had to die 2 seal the nine tails into naruto and pain fights this beast quite easily...
Put that aside, madara seems even stronger.
So why am i talking about this?
Whats my intention?
When we compare the first epic fight: Kakashi - Zabuza with the last one Pain vs Naruto there is such a huge discrepancy that pisses me kind of off.
So i am complaining about:
- the characters becoming unusually strong, they are able to destroy villages and so on ...
- so many unique techniques, bloodline limits, just no normal persons anymore
- so many monsters in the world, more related to the anime but who whatched the naruto films (exept the first one which was cool) knows what i mean
- so less good ol ninjutsu fights

I would love to have some of those again.
I enjoyed the older fights much more then the newer ones because the techniques were cool.
Kakashi could copy them and so on.
Ive noting against some unique guys in akatsuki or in oros "team" but in my opinion we have no normal guys anymore.
I hope i made my point clear.
So let me know, what do you think?
And please, i wanna a serious discussion, no "stop crying" or "just stop watching it, if you dont like it"
Im a fan of nartuo but I'd like to have "the good old times back..."

Greets
Lighty

Well, it's moving on. I mean wouldn't you get bored with these ninjutsu fights? If you like those, check out the latest filler, it was very jutsu-ey

Anyway, the point is that most of the VILLIANS have unique techniques or bloodline limits, it's what makes them so stong. Itachi would have been nothing without his bloodline, Nagato is the same and without Orochimaru's forbidden techs, he wouldn't be as powerfull.

When you look at the main "good guys", Naruto now uses his wind rasengan (and clones as usual), Yamato uses wood, Shikamaru uses shadows and so on, the "Original 11" still use the techniques they have from the start, so do most of the characters who've been there from the start.

cant really follow you either Lighty.

Trust me, it is just your taste. There are a LOT of guys who think the Pain fight was the most awesome since the beginning of Naruto.

edit: Oh and Pain didnt easily defeat the Kyubi. He had a tough time surpressing him as he only had 6 tails. The 8 Tails Kyubi overpowered his chikuba tensei and who knows what the full kyubi would be capable of.

I really enjoyed the recent Naruto vs Nagato fight especially the bit where Naruto talks to his father's soul.

I can see where Lighty is coming from, but my favourite parts of stories are seeing how characters grow and what they do with there new strength after they've grown, hence more powerful and inidividual techniques are much enjoyed by me.

Its ok that everyone develops, but wheres the logic?:
The third himself was a relly strong ninja, in his youth most likely one of the strongest in the world.
Only some years later a weird guy appears (Pein) which is so much stronger than the third they cant even be compared.
If this goes on it would be like in DBZ there is NO limit.
You can become stronger and stronger, and then you reach what Pein was thinking he already achieved you become a god.
Thats not realistic, ok Naruto is not realistic i know but i think thats probobly the greatest weakness of this kind of series.
At the beginning you get to know some nice charakters, they are very strong, and a little time later a new one appears and is just so much stronger.

@Alexander:
Ehm the talk with his father was epic and i enjoied it AND it has nothing to do with the things i said.
As i already said i like that the characters develop but it goes either too fast (naruto just vanishes for like a wekk and comes back as a sage) or it takes sooo long (naruto comes back after 2 1/2 years and has learned nothing than oodama rasengsan, use his shadow clones faster and dispel genjutso)

Its still the same, you only state your vision on what makes this fight epic.

In my eyes its the best fight there is, BECAUSE of the destructive power.
One mistake and the opponent could die in a blink of a second.
Thats what happened when Pain got Naruto at first, he used banshou tenin and Naruto wasnt prepared, Pain wins.
And thats also what happened when Naruto overwhelmed Pain in the end with massclones and the surpriseattack.
One succesful move and the destructive power is so strong, that it is a win already.

Thats what intensity is for me.

Pain isnt the only one who can destroy an entire village.

Deidara allmost destroyed the sand village, if it wasnt for Gaara.
Sasori said he destroyed a whole country!

And also the way Naruto uses his clones to gain information, as a diversion and as a tool to develop openings is A LOT strategy in my eyes.
The Naruto overwhelmed the other realms was also amazing, especially when he made a stone toad out of the ghost realm, or when he made the clones and transformed as the Futon Rasengan to kill the hell realm.

Ofc Kakashi has tons of Jutsu (over 1000?) in his repertoire but its not all about throwing a water volley at the enemy.

Sure it looks cool but its just not Narutos way of fighting he is the type of melee combat fighter who charges in, he has tons of chakra and his techniques make use of his chakra pool.

Sasuke for example also has a very big repertoire on skills and techniques he can use, but that doesnt make the Itachi or 8tails fight better in my eyes.

Its just your opinion Lighty.

btw. you are german?

@firini: I enjoyed the fight as well but it could have been epic in a different way.
What makes a fight epic? 2 equal characters beating each other, noone having an advantage or only a little one, you dont know how what the outcome might be.
Thats epic. We had that when the third fought oro. It was epic.
Lets compare those 2 fights:
The Anbu said that this is what a hokage battle looks like.
We had beating, some summons, weird ninjutsu encountered the wook style and so on.
Naruto vs Pein: Naruto just uses his different types of rasengan und his clones (and his sage mode) Pain does noting than shinraa tensai and then chubaku tensei.
Both characters were a lot stronger than the third and oro but (in my opinion) they only showed how destructive they are, nothing special, no real trick.
Thats was nerves me in Narutos fight in general.
He either tries some times until he lands a hit with rasengan/shuriken or he wents kyuubi.
If the enemy is weak he only uses clones, come on, the main character should come up with someting eles but thats another point.
