Hey zB here and this is the 1st Tut i make 4 all of ya'll
this was created upon request of Vergil
(thank that jerk 4 making me wrk)
ok 4 starters you want 2 open a new document about 550x300
now that you have ur blank pg shown here
now select the rounded rectangle tool (shortcut U)
now drag it from the middle left of your layout to the bottom right so it looks like this
this is so that your render gives the illusion that its busting out of the sig box
ok next step is to throw in your render on top resize if necessary
however as you can see hes sticking out so what your going to do is create another rectangle that meets the bottom edge of your 1st rectangle and that is big enough that it shows everything of ur render you dont want cut off like this
now what your going to do it actually not that hard
so jus follow the pics
now dont freak u should have something looking like this ^_^
from here simply turn the layer without the clipping path off and link the path and the render so they move 2gether
and you'll end up with something like this
frm here if you want to add effects you simply make ur vector mask into a path so you can reuse it
and then select >> path >> select the vector mask >> double click it to make it into a path
once this is done return 2 the layers toggle create a new layer make sure the layer is under your render make a gradient preferably color sampled from your render
then drag it across the layout so its nice and even like this
now select the layer which contains the gradient flip to the paths menu select the path we just created and go to Layer>>Vector Mask>>Current Path
and you should get this
so basically from here if you want to add any other effects to the bak you simply repeat the previous step to which ever layer has the desired effect
and thats how its done
