Ok so this is the first thing I did in PS.


Comments and links to tutorials will be greatly appreated. with this I was really just trying to get a background textur, some simple brush work and cutting out a character form another pic and inserting it into this one. I could really use some help with selecting a character. I'm just trying to take this one step at a time.

hhm.
i suggest taking your selection and refining your edges using the refine edge tool to get a more smoother cleaner edge

I would strongly recommend to get used to basics in making signatures such as various tools before doing something advanced such as rendering images. I would suggest to use this tutorial by Hitsugaya to get used to the basics. Tutorial: Full Signature
