I want some input on this... please?

I made this for the SOTW... in paint... please tell me how I did and where I can improve... other than just going and getting photoshop... I already know that it would've been easier...

this is my first sig that I've finished ever... all the rest sucked too hard...

I want the input for future sigs as I've already entered this one...

Paint? Wow.....At first glance it looks like the graphic was worked on it PS. Looking closer though I see it was just inverted but still it looks good. As for improvements maybe a widescreen border?

Well, being a paint user myself, I know there's massive barriers you can't cross with using paint. Texts are usually awful in paint, and borders are limited to squares and rectangles.

Considering you used paint though, this sig isn't all that bad. The biggest downer is like Second Cell said, it needs a border (Which is nearly impossible in paint) and the text is a bit shaky, again another paint limitation.

Also, try saving the file as a .PNG rather than a .gif or .jpeg. Paint likes to save everything as a jpeg by default, and if you don't save it initially as a .png you will lose a lot of quality. Which it looks like has happened to you. You might have to re-do the sig, and save it as a .png if you haven't already.

hmm I never thought about using a different format... thnx... and a border? hmmm... I might just be able to pull that off... hold on... the SOTW deadline isn't till thursday.... would you guys hold it against me if I re-entered my sig before then?

I just thought about this... my stock started out as a JPEG... so I don't think using a different format is gonna help... most of the quality is lost as I shrink it down to sig size... I use huge stock...

I am surprised paint can actually be used other then saving my desktop screencaps from my print screen button XD
Its quite nice, but the text doesn't match, i don't know if paint has any blending options but if there is try use that.

heh... paint doesn't have blending... and on my new version of my sig I actually have Halo text...

You could try gimp if you dont have photoshop i think its free

thank you all... I'll probably try to get both gimp and PS... see one I like better...

honestly the only reason I was able to make this so good was because I found some great stock... all the gradients and stuff was already present in the stock itself... then again I myself captured said stock from the game itself...

all I did was invert it, and copy and paste the effects to where I wanted them... hardest part was making it small enough... the pic itself was 1980x1500 I think... I'd check, but I'm not at my home computer...
