They arrested him? Wasn't he in Europe? They don't have as strict rules against copyright laws right?

That depends what country you live in. I know that here in Belgium and in the UK (where he was based) they have about as strict copyright laws as you have in the USA. Last week there was a Belgian record fine for an illegal downloader (he downloaded movies and sold them on DVD afterwards) of about €400 000. The euro is a worth a bit more than the dollar, so that would make about $575 000. The guy probably lived only 20 miles from where I live.

I can't really remember what country, though I'm sure it was a scandinavian one.. I'm guessing in Finland they don't have really as strict rules as in the rest of Europe.

Ya, that is pretty sad that they closed that site down and arrested the webmaster. I really loved it too! Really feel for the wedmaster, that was unjust that the arrested him for being the host. I hope they create a new site =(

They won't. I mean it is a federal crime in the US. Although technically he was just hosting videos he should get a shorter sentance than putting the videos up them self.

It kind of makes you wonder what the difference is between lending a friend your DVD's and sharing them on the net. Either way your not making money off them, poor guy.
