Halo3:ODST

Bungie refers to this new game as a "Standalone expansion pack" and says that they are trying not to venture too far into "steath" or "squad-based" genre of gaming... but they are already following in the footsteps of a game that successfully did so... I'm refering to Star Wars: Republic Commando, It had stealth, it had a squad... it had solo parts... it even had outlines on enemies and allies in the hud... let's just hope they do it right and include Campaign coop... unlike SW:RC... don't get me wrong... I absolutely love SW:RC and I consider it to be an awesome game... but the lack of coop was disappointing... well that is my thoughts on this...

I'm not getting it. It's now $60 for 3-5 hour campaign 3 new maps then all the Halo 3 maps on the disc. Thats a ripoff cuz like everybody who owns Halo 3 has those maps already. Really since the first Halo(which was actually great) the last two Halos was crap so I don't expect Halo3:ODST to be any good.

i gotta agree with sparkman. i gonna pass on this one and wait until modern warfare 2 comes out in november.

you do realize that it is all about the ODSTs and has nothing to do with the MC or the Arbiter? and that it has the last three (no one has those maps...yet... ) maps for Halo 3? Halo Wars came with the three new maps which are now on the marketplace for download for the cheap bastards that didn't go buy Halo Wars (which I consider to be an epic game)

Yeah, I'm dying to get ODST. They've been dangling the damned achievements over my head for months. I just hope it doesn't weed out Halo 3. It's pretty much the only game I play, and it would be a shame if the ODST wasn't as good and decreased the amount of people playing matchmaking on Halo 3. It's hard enough to find matches in categories like Squad Battle, especially when you're a 35 in it lol

I don't play Halo 3 very often but my highest skill level is a 35... I just am prone to either win a few and then lose horribly or be awesome every other game...

I personally can't wait for this game. At first I was a little hesitant about it because it wasn't the Spartans and there wasn't too much detail out. Now it's a different story though. After seeing the gameplay at E3 I was amazed. I am actually going to get the limited edition from GameStop which includes a sweet ass green controller. Plus the fact that ODST will come with the Halo: Reach beta is awesome as well. I am super curious as to what Halo:Reach is going to be about.

Well for one thing its Halo so its a definite buy for me. Secondly, I'm looking forward to see how they pull this off without Master Chief. The concept is interesting and this may work out because the whole Halo universe is seen in a new light, more of like a prequel rather than the sequel.
