Halo3:ODST - Page 3

i cant wai fo the game not only does it come with 3 new maps wich i hope are ,uch better than the 3 that came with halo wars but also its not going to be like halo 1, 2, or 3 its supposed to be a free roaming game which i find badass. not only that but i believe halo reach comes out with it.... the new halo multiplayer granted its not the full version just beta but still and theyre is supossed to be an awsome co-op on the game

Not to sure how to feel about this game. I used to be a big halo fan but now I am starting to think maybe they are dragging on this series to long but there are aspects that interest me like how limited or big the city is going to be in regards with free roaming. Also firefight seems like it would be great fun since i loved horde mode on gears i am glad other games are putting this into their games since it makes the game life allot longer. All in all i will rent first i think and see where it goes from there.

Lol, dragging? Dude, the ODST doesn't have Master Chief in it, so why do you think its a drag? I mean this one is supposed to be a prequel of sorts so in my view, its a fresh start. What I want to know is what Bungie will dish out for Halo: Reach and how it will be different from ODST because they announced both the games at E3 at the same time.

For me i have just played to much halo so i am starting to sort of get bored of the halo universe but i am entirely happy that they dropped master chief and thus this is why I am a bit skeptical to if i will enjoy this game because on the one side i feel i have seen enough of the halo universe but on the other side they are bringing this from a different perspective so there is a large chance they are going to bring in some new interesting points but all in all i think the ODST might re-invent this franchise a bit and may actually get me back in. That is what i hope for anyway and for some reason i think halo reach is going to be like a battlefield game where it is large on multiplayer which large maps and such and you can choose through classes because they are starting to have a somewhat large variety of units on both sides but ether way we can only wait and see what it becomes.

I understand that the timeline for ODST is the time from when the MC left earth in H2 to the time when he got back in H3 so it isn't a prequel since it happens after H1

Now Reach on the other hand is a prequel since it supposedly happens before H1, since Reach was glassed when the Pillar of Autumn did their random jump

=o Yeah, i am pretty sure there is a book based on halo reach but its not something i have read but from what i hear is it not supposed to be sort of a location where Spartans steamed from or got their numbers wiped out? one or the other...or none...I am relying on memory which is awful...although it may not follow the book at all and they may just use the idea behind it and create their own story but ether way i see some sort of potential in it...

no prob... there was three more books i didn't mention... because all one does is cover Halo1... it basically is Halo 1 in book form... Halo: The Flood... it just provides a different perspective...

The other one is a prequel that covers the destruction of Harvest(The first planet to fall to the Covenant)... Halo: Contact Harvest

the last one is also a prequel that covers a period of time between Halo: Contact Harvest and Halo: The Fall of Reach.... called Halo: The Cole Protocol

so in timeline order it is:

Contact Harvest
The Cole Protocol
The Fall of Reach(?Halo: Reach?)]
(Halo Wars?)
The Flood(Halo1)
First Strike
(Halo2)
(Halo: ODST)
The Ghosts of Onyx ?
(Halo3)

just in case you want to read the books in timeline order...
after I check Halo Wars timeline I'll be more sure...

the question marks mean I'm not sure or it is just a guess...

Hmmm sounds interesting i may pick them up next time i need something new to read =)
also i have played halo wars and i am pretty sure your right, i am not sure where it coincides with the books but i know that it is set before halo 1...
