So after the two Death Note movies, anime series and manga series are you still wanting more Death Note? Well they brought it to us in the form of L <3 Yesh in Feb 2009 L: Change the WorLd will be airing!
Its a spin off of the original series staring you guessed it L himself! A whole move of L XD Personally I'm excited for something new from Death Note, I have adored this series since before it became known to America and even before it hit anime status. I love the action, the logical mind games and the unique characters (come on who wouldn't love a shinigami who eats apples, a detective that gorges down snacks like no tomorrow and still doesn't get fat or Near who is a kid genius who could beat me at any school subject ^^) along with the beautiful drawings.
L is recruited to save humanity from a deadly virus that wiped out a whole Thai village and his friend F. His opponents are K and a twisted environmental group who want to "cleanse" the world of it's excess population with the deadly virus. His accomplices are two young children - a English speaking boy who's the only survivor of the virus infected Thai village; and a Japanese school girl who's the child of the Professor who developed the virus antidote. His FBI partners are Watari, and Sugura who joins later as a brief comical decoy for L on the run. (Taken from anime news network)

dont lyk live action. Heard that Death Note Movie 1 and 2 are not good.
