imho, even if you took out all that [slightly psycho] stuff that Light did after he got kind of distracted from his original goal, it still can't ever be justified. Unless, of course, everyone and everything shared the same set of morals and sense of right and wrong. Which we don't.
I can understand trying to kill off all the murderers/rapists/really "bad" criminals, in a way. But not even then is it totally right, unless you know exactly why [and how] the crime was committed.
For example, a murderer may have only killed his or her "innocent victim" because the latter was trying to kill/rape/whatever them or their loved ones.
And a rapist may not have actually committed rape - I think it can be counted as rape if the "victim" is considered not to be in a mental state where he/she knew what he/she was doing, even if they're both of the legal age and consented?
You know, everyone does something wrong by someone else's standards, so basically the whole world and "Kira" himself should be killed, right? [[And Kira's way of clearing up the world was pretty hypocritical, anyway xD]]
All this, and the fact that I personally cannot stand people who have an overactive sense of justice. ^^
