I am just wondering if anyone else out there thinks MIcheal Phelps is a freak of nature! The dude is unreal. I just dont know how one man out of 6 billion can be that much better at something than anyone else! Congratulations to him though, I am in awe of his ability in the pool!
MP is and from now on will be known as a legend. If you think about it, now people can only tie his 8 gold medals but never exceed that amount in a single Olympics since MP participated in the max number of events for a swimmer. I decided to read up on this guy and believe it or not as a child MP had ADHD...I guess he found his zen in swimming. Simply Amazing.
He's the most dominant athlete of my lifetime. Truly, utterly, ridiculous. I talked about it a bit in the Olympics thread here. The scary thing is the guy is only 23. Granted, I don't know what his motivation will be down the road, but he'll be entering the 2007 games in London at 27. He could feasibly get even BETTER. Maybe he enters a couple more races (his splits in the IMs show he can definitely medal in the backstroke and possibly even breast) and ups his gold medal total to an astronomical number.
OMG! I know him. I was totally gaping at the newspaper when I read that he was some kind of billionair for swimming since he was 8. It's amazing! whoever will be his wife is sure to be the luckiest girl.
yeah.. he will be a legend.... he is the contributor of the USA gold medal you know... i respect him for breaking some WR in swimming...

maybe he will be pressure in next Olympics but most American people will remember him as a hero to USA in swimming i think...
