in my opinion..... it would be the chicken, because there is a posibility that from long time ago, the ancestors of chickens do not lay eggs . .

the answer is the egg. But not that of a chicken but it contained chicken becuase of evolution. Have u seen the ancestors of chickens? They were like ostriches. Egg from an ostich like creature. Another answer may be a cross-breed. See? I solved the great chicken n egg mystery

This depends whether you're looking to reason from a religious view, or a scientific view. If you're arguing through religion, then there's not much to say except it was said in the Bible that God created the animals... they suddenly appeared out of nothingness. o.o" Something like that lol. If you're arguing from a scientific view, then there are a lot to explain on that. Evolution, cross-breeding, etc.

Uhm, he doesnt mean a full grown chicken, he means a chick hatches out of a ostrich egg, then that chicken breeds and gets more chicks, and so on.

also with the size of the ostrich egg, an adult chicken will fit in... hehe
