Exclamation Graphic Novels - 07-22-2008

There are some awesome graphic novels out there. For those who don't know what a graphic novel is, they are mature comics. I'm sure u have seen the movies 300 and Sin City. Well they are based on graphic novels. If u have read some, post in the name and what u like about them. I've read a lot of them and i love Frank Miller's works. They include Sin City, 300, Return of the Dark Knight and Ronin. I'm currently reading Watchmen by Alan Moore. And i have to say, its awesome.
Here are some download links to the torrents

Btw movie coming out for Watchmen directed by Zack Snyder, the dude who made 300. He is another Frank Miller fan!!!!!

regular comics are lame. Repetitive stories and even more lame characters. Graphic novels are totally opposite to them. I stopped reading them when i was 15. After some age, u get over it. So conclusion, comics for kids, GN for pros:P

yet, you're into Bleach? weird...

Anyway, I love Watchmen, and I love the stuff that the new Batman movies are based on (Year One, Long Halloween, Zero Hour). I also love Tower of Babel and Kingdom Come, and the Death of Superman trilogy (moreso the 2nd one, World Without Superman). The Killing Joke was Alan Moore's (of Watchmen and V for Vendetta fame) take on the origin of the Joker, and was very interesting. Hellblazer was fun (the story of Constantine). On the less Super Hero side, there's also Ghost World and History Of Violence, which were both turned into great movies. And of course, since this is an anime forum after all, I have to mention Akira.

Well, Japanese manga (can also be known as 'comics') are different from American ones. And one of them is the art style. I've observed that manga has more exaggerated art than American comics, that keeps it more realistic. Also, manga often has a bigger story compared to comics, and a complete storyline could run thousands of pages, unlike American comics that are just a collection of monthly comics in single unified story. Manga also moves at a much quicker pace compared to comics, has less dialogue per page than comic books, few panels, and definitely the manga is cheaper because comics are usually colored, and manga is just black and white. o.o" And Bleach definitely cannot be compared to American comics. ; )

you're right... I could never validate Bleach's significance by putting it in the same sentence as Batman. As fun as Bleach is, I won't degrade the Dark Knight like that.

dude if you think Frank's a genius, u'll drool over Alan Moore. But i should place them side by side. Frank's works has two movies. Alan's best novel movie is yet to come---> Watchmen.
