Why did Aizen Choose Tosen?

why kill tousen when he can easily manipulate him..Tousen has a strong sense of justice so all Aizen had to do was do a little sweet talk which he is good at and make Tousen believe that the path he is on is the right one... so rather than kill him he made the one person who could have been a threat to him a puppet

and who knows it may have been easier to make him an ally than to kill him at the time

I still stick by my choice. I personally think Aizen took Tosen cause he is afraid. He figured it would be easier to manipulate him then kill him, so he did. I'd rather have Tosen on my side then be against him. Sure you can say that about anyone else, but Tosen's bankai is just Over powered if used correctly.

Anyways I'm going to go with DK on this one. Tousen's thinking is too idiotic and so, manipulation by a dude like Aizen is like the easiest thing possible. With unique powers, Tousen is an important, not an essential, part of the team.

actually it was clearly mentioned in the early chapters in SS arc in the manga ,gin and tousin is the only captains in SS who is afraid from death ,it was mentioned in the first time gin appeared in bleach

It was actually Byakuya, who apparnetly knows Gin pretty well, being that they spent a lot of time together going through the ranks. So I put some stock in it. Of course, seeing that Aizen never showed his "true face" to the Shinigami, it's also possible Gin hasn't either. Guess we'll find out at some point.

Tousen's chosen because his stupid can be useful for Aizen, Aizen can manipulate easily

Gin's chosen because he's strong, can help Aizen to reach his goal

nah dont think so hey....battle wise,Tousen is a fighter you need when you are implementing a stragedic battle while Gin is an all round fighter...which makes team Aizen invisible i must say...
@Vergil...well to be honerst Gin afraid of dieing is a shitty theory,i must agree with you there...he leaved a nomadic hazardious life(From Matsumoto's TBTP)...Gin isnt afraid of it...its just some face he puts on just to represent his squad's symbol.....as for Tousen,his willing to die for the 'right'cause...Kenpachi must have been smoking weed
Tousen could never manupulate Aizen...Tousen is used for strategic fighting...not that essential in the team...already we can see how mush his not needed...by how Gin and Aizen simply destroy Hiyori
