May. 3rd, 2009, 09:52 PM
OK wwe all know he will but when? soon? not until ichigo makes it bak? Why was he exiled? I am really curious to hear your theories, just saw the dubbed anime episode last night Of when isshin shows up and kills grand fisher. This guy is so bad ass and he has some connection with urahara. In english urahara does mention that Isshin will be fighting...sorta saying that "friend and foe alike will be involved in the battle...you, me...etc" I dont know if this has been discussed and most likely has but im just hungry for some speculation lol

Chances are almost zero he's going to be involved, knowing the Vizards are on their way and stuff. But I would like it if he did get involved.

Agreed with Piney. The Vizards are next in the line. And if you think about it, there can be a next arc because we haven't seen Ishiin's past and all and he still has to fight sooner or later because if he wasn't going to, there was no need for us to be shown that he was a captain level dude.
Vizards are more than enough to tackle the top three espada if things go out of hand, which they are in case of Barragan and Halibel. And then there is the little story of Shinji and Aizen.

It's hard to say. But I'll point out 2 things.
First off, Isshin knows how serious this all is. He even said that Aizen could destroy the world. There's no reason to hold back here. I expect everyone with powers to get involved here somewhere. Urahara said that the Vizards are preparing for the battle "just like we're doing."
Secondly, Isshin might be the only true trump card in all of this. Think about it. Aizen knows everyone's abilities. But he probably has no clue what Isshin is. Aizen knows the Vizards, he knows Soul Society (obviously), but the only variable that he probably hasn't calculated is Isshin. I guess we'll find out more when Isshin has his back story, but since he wasn't in the TBTP arc, and Iif he's a Shiba, he either was on earth before the TBTP arc, or was somewhere where normal Shinigami would never see him (Zero Squad perhaps?) since Shinji didn't recognize his power. Isshin could play a significant role in this. Of course, no time soon (this fight has a looooooooong way to go).
But my question is how much does Isshin know? I guess we'll find out soon enough, but it's interesting that he referred to the Vizards as criminals.

I think Ishiin knows as much as Urahara knows because they have one huge thing in common. They both left SS for their own respective reasons and i believe they are in constant contact with each other.
Also yeah its interesting that Ishiin marked them as criminals but maybe he was talking in the point of view of the SS, not himself. Also we can't say for sure what goes in Ishiin's mind because of two reasons. First, he hasn't been given enough spot light that he deserves (will be given in the future) and secondly, we don't know in which time period he was the captain in SS because there was no sign of him in the Pendulum arc.

I've said this like a billion times by now. I think Urahara and Isshin have many things in common. First off, for a guy who left at a different time than Urahara, Isshin seemed to know a lot about the Hougyuku. It also just so happened that somehow Isshin lost his Shinigami powers around the time Ichigo was born.
My theory: Isshin fell in love with a Human while in the living realm while on a mission of some sort. Since relations between humans and Shinigami are a taboo, Isshin went AWOL on Soul Society/ Zero Squad. Since he knew someone would come looking for him, and he knew it would be quite difficult to hide his massive reiatsu. He struck a deal with Urahara, who just so happened to need somewhere to hide the Hougyuku. Putting the Hougyuku in Isshin had benefits for both Urahara and Isshin. Urahara would have somewhere safe to hide the Hougyuku, and he also had someone he could trust with it. For Isshin, the benefit would be that his reiatsu would be hidden, his Shinigami powers would slowly diminish from the Hougyuku, and he could live his life as a regular Human with his wife. This way Soul Society couldn't find him.
If you noticed, the very first episode, the Kurosaki residence was attacked. Awfully close to Urahara's Hougyuku. He had to move it... and in a hurry. His only option for Shinigami at the time was Rukia, who needed a Gigai, so he put the Hougyuku in the gigai, which transferred the Hougyuku to Rukias soul.
That explains several things, why Isshin left, why he lost his powers, and also why he started gaining his powers back after the Soul Society arc. It took him just about as much time as it took Rukia to get her powers back after the Hougyuku was inside her, despite the fact it was in Isshin for 20 years longer.
There are several variables to the theory, such as the AWOL for love aspect. Isshin could've been sent by Zero Squad to help protect the Hougyuku, and just so happened to fall in love while on his mission. However I'm 200% sure that Urahara used Isshin to hide the Hougyuku before it was in Rukia. Why the hell else would he lose his powers and suddenly gain them back like that? It makes perfect sense to me anyways.

I agree with pretty much all of that. My question is if Urahara is hiding anything from Isshin. It was weird that he called the Vizards "criminals" who tried to attain Hollow powers by means of forbidden tactics. Does he know the truth? Is he referring to different Vizards? It's also weird that he said "we never found their base," indicating that he (along with others) have been looking for them. Did he mean "we" as in him and Urahara? Or was he sent to investigate separately after they disappeared from Soul Society (and perhaps this is where he fell in love)? That's the stuff I wanna know. But like Verg said, we've seen so little of Isshin, it's hard to even guess what he might be thinking. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Tite does this alot. he shows a character only to hide his abilities until they are unsuspected and then they do something amazing.
Isshin whould be a good wild card cuz no none aside from the older captians knows of his abilities. He would make a great sacrafice in order to make Ichigo ascend again in power. Cuz i still dont believe he is on par with Aizen yet..
