Aizen or Yammamoto? whos the inferior?

Hello everybody! i started this thread because i was a bit skeptical about who was stronger Aizen or Yammamoto. i believe we all saw how aizen used his finger to block ichigo's bankai [lol] and how he is able to use a 90's spell without chanting and defeated a captain in a blink of an eye(during SS arc). Not to mention he deflected Tessai's [Captain of Kidou? something like that] kidou blast as a vice captain using a what seems like a fairly normal kidou spell without chanting(in ep. 212) . last but not least he is very knowledgeable in hollowfication which allows a shinigami whom at their peak to advance further with their powers. Compared to Captain Commander who can look at someone and make them fall on to their knees gasping for air. He is also one of the oldest living in Soul Society, who started the shinigami school. Although we haven't seen him in action much. i believe he is pretty much self- explanatory.

Now there lies only one question who's the superior and who's the inferior?

Aizen. No matter how strong you are, if you look upon Aizen's sword, you are pretty much screwed. Although yama always has his eyes closed

Ah yes, the two most powerful captains. Kyoka Suigetsu is a very amazing zan. In it's shikai the illusionary/hypnotic capabilities are unrivaled and can take down pretty much any of the newer captains as we have seen (hitsugaya virtually dies in one hit, luckily unohana is around). Ryujin Jakka is the most powerful offensive zan in soul society. I think it's safe in assume Yama, like Aizen, has maxed out stats in all fields of shinigami powers. He is currently the oldest shinigami after all, and founded the shinigami academy (how did the shinigami train/learn before that?). I think that perhaps if Yama could "sense" Aizen's location instead of using his eyes he could beat the perfect hypnosis, but then again I suppose it is "perfect". We know that Yama Bankai is simply overpowered, since his zan is the most powerful. But what about Kyoka Suigetsu? Would Aizen even need to use Bankai to beat Yama? There are so many variables to this battle that it's really not easy at all to guess who would win. I'm gonna take a chance and go with Yama because he has an indelible amount of experience over Aizen, just as powerful as Aizen, and considering he was confident he could kill Ukitake and Kyoraku, I just think he would win. However, I think it would be REALLY close.

ahh yes.. well said yamasawa12 considering the two they are at their extremes or peak of their powers. now the question will be youth vs experience. very intriguing.

I said before and I'll say it again, I think Yama is the most powerful Shinigami there is, including Aizen. Aizen reached his limit, but I don't think it's a general Shinigami limit. As Shinigami, Yama is probably more powerful. If Aizen is a Vizard, that's another story. But honestly, as Shinigami, I wouldn't be surprised if several members of the Gotei 13 are stronger than Aizen.

I gotta go with Yamajii. A simple reason is that is Aizen was stronger, he would have killed everyone already. That just proves that he isnt the strongest and that yama can still own him like a lil kid.

I have to say that is a pretty invalid reason. You have to remember, this is indeed a anime and only what the writers want is what happens. I say this because the same thing could be said about yama. if he was indeed the strongest, he would of launched an assault on HM and killed Aizen but he didn't... want to know why? FEAR!

So would you say that the Kyoraku or Unohana could beat Aizen? It's safe to assume that Yama is stronger than either. I agree that Aizen reached his personal limit, but I think his true strength lies in his cunning and intellect. However, we have seen him use only a fraction of his strength during the SS arc. As you are aware, he nearly killed Komamura, Hitsugaya, and Ichigo. Each of these victories were with a single swift move. With that in mind, could he defeat the senior captains in such a manner? One hit demise? Considering he's got them all under the "spell" it's not a stretch right? His attitude in combat is so composed and calm that it is rather unnerving, at least in my eyes. His confidence (or arrogance) in his own strength and those of his allies leads me to believe that he is second only to Yama. However, I am confused why he didn't attempt to kill Unohana and Isane.

Yamaji is the inferior one, he's too old, while Aizen at his peak performance.
