I found this little chapter quite interesting. It's the first time we've been let in on how a Shinigami obtains their Zanpakuto. I've always wondered if the Zanpakuto tries communicating before it's materialized, if the Shinigami is aware of it etc. I kind of wished they would let us in on more than what they gave us. Hopefully the movie will pick up on some of that.

and yes the video does move kinda fast...its usually not like that from the other person i get it from...but i had to use this one becuase none other 304's were out and i know everyone needs there manga fix

Just because she was a Shinigami first doesn't necessarily mean she's more powerful. Toushiro is obviously an anomoly when it comes to Shingami, it usually takes centuries for a Shinigami to start rapport with their Zanpakuto, while Hitsugayas started talking to him without any provocation.

i know wat ur saying....makes sense that hitsugayas reiatsu was noticed by matsumoto to be over flowing or w/e she said...so maybe thats how she knew.....and it is kind of interesting to see communication between the two....i wonder how many of the shinigami actually went through this process....of course ichigo didnt got threw it....but then again...in the first episode...wen rukia used her zan to stab ichigo and give him powers u think he mightve had a moment with zangetsu without tite actually showing us?

I don't remember the very beginning all that well, but I wouldn't think so. If I remember correctly, Ichigo didn't know anything about Zangetsu. That's why Renji (I think it was the Renji fight) was kind of taunting him when they went to capture Rukia. He knew nothing about Zangetsu at that point.

very true....let me refresh u....ichigo says i want to be a shinigami...rukia says...then take this sword and stab it in ur heart....and u will become one..ichgio stabs himself and turns into a shinigami...then slices the arm off the hollow....but ur right...he dint know anything about zangetsu untill the zaraki fight....

I don't find Hitsugaya particularly interesting anyway. I mean, the flashbacks with Hinamori at the beginning pretty much told us all about his personality, and this only told us about the grandma and how he got his powers. It wasn't much more than we already knew, and it did not do anything for the plot. Also, what is up with everybody coming from the crappiest part of Rukongai? Could they come from someplace a little nicer, please? T_T

Also, if they did another thing like this, I would love it to be about Mayuri. How cool would it be to find out how he became so twisted? >

I feel you there, but I'm just saying, at least we're getting some backstory about him, as opposed to him just running around being his douchebag self.

And yeah, there are a lot of people from the slums. I thought it was a rarity for Shinigami to come from there. Clearly I misread something.

LMFAO....yeah but then if he died we might have not got the totally cool movie coming up...we all know we wanna see this movie and of course hitsugaya is like a very important character in it...or so it seems...heck he may even be the main character in it other than ichigo...

tru tru....damn SR u really dont like toshiro huh? i mean his bankai is over used and doesnt really seem all that strong but i dont wish him dead...lmao....although it would be better if the story was using another character...i dont see the reason in using toshiro as the main character or w/e...out of all the other people....

I don't think that Hitsugaya should die...but at least give him hypothermia or something
