About Urahara, I always did wonder how he got his hands on supplies from SS, but figured he had some sneaky secret contacts..maybe he did and ss knew, but let it be so he could be of use later on for them..like now.

Well he is the founder of the Shinigami Research Institute, so I think a lot of the "supplies" to which you are referring were probably invented/researched by Urahara in the first place. So he wouldn't necessarily need the help of Soul Society to get his hands on this stuff, because in effect, he's the original source.
