I think that Tousen and Gin are both stronger than they were before because
it's just natural. Everybody have become stronger with all that time that has passed.
Well, its obvious they have had to become stronger. As to how, I can only speculate. Did they use the hogyuku*sp*, I don't think so. It still isn't fully awakened, and I don't think they would risk it on themseves just yet. But were they actually displaying their full power in SS? I don't think they were. I am pretty sure this scheme has been in process for a long time. I don't think Aizen was the only one who didn't want people to know how strong he truely was. It would be nice if we could see some more action from those two though.
I think even though the spirit particles in hueco mundo r more concentrated; they would kick any of the captains ass's in huco. It was all just a charade, they hid their real powers.
the former captains are definitely much stronger. cmon, the espada fears them and they are the commanders. they must have enough powers to stop any insuboordination. just like wen grimmjow got out of control
