Kenpachi.

Who else would have a bone to pick with shinigami other than the lonely zanpakuto of the only ranked shinigami to not know or care to know him?

Not only that, but...(from bleach wiki)

Muramasa was the name of a famous swordsmith from the 16th century. Muramasa's blades were thought to have an unnatural bloodlust, crying out for blood at night, and refusing to be sheathed until they drew blood, even resorting to cutting their owner. This may be the reason behind Muramasa's tears of blood.

How does that not cry out KENPACHI!?!?!

Muramasa is Toushens orginal zanpakuto, before he gained another one...

Is this just speculation or known fact? By the way, you mean Kaname Tōsen?

i agree, its got to be kenpachi.. who is toushen? toshiro or tousen?

What about Ashido? Yeah, that one shinigami from the Forest of Menos. He never revealed his shikai, but it's possible that it's his zanpakuto's soul. It could be neglected since all he's been doing is killing Menos which he didn't even need to use shikai for.

i don't know why many of you think this way,i agree that the physical from was not originally tousen's however as it was mentioned before the zan is born within the shinigami's soul ,i mean all the shinigami start off with a normal katana and then they awakens the zan in thier soul ,which at that point get transferred into the katana ,in your logic ichigo's zan is originally rukia's (remember he called zangetsu to the broken hilt of rukia's zan ),plus that was shown that every zan matches his soul ,and the same case applies for tosen as well

yeah I agree it is Kenpachi's, I meam Kenpachi pratically ignored his zanpakuto, and threw Maramusa's actions, it mainly cries out "Give me attention"

No, i believe its stated that Toshen uses another zanpakuto other than his own......He basically used if after a close friend of his died.....I dont even know if he has ever even known HIS real zanpakuto..but the one he uses now isnt naturally his..

Yeah, it could be Ashido...But i think he would have talked to his zan of all people. its probably the only thing in that world thats not hostile towards him..being in HM that is..

Going under the assumption that it is Tousen's just doesn't fit in with the whole scope of things, as far as I'm concerned. Every zanpakuto spirit that has manifested so far is one of a shinigami that is currently in soul society. What would be the reasoning behind Tousen's zanpakuto rebelling against him if he's not even there? Same with Ashido...we don't even know if he's alive or not and he's still, I assume, in Hueco Mundo. I think it has to be somebody in soul society.

There are probably plenty of shinigami in soul society who don't know the name of their zanpakuto...but none that we know of that have the reiatsu like muramasa to stop Ichigo in his tracks. Kinda like how Kenpachi did in the save Rukia arc. It being Kenpachi's just makes sense to me.
