I was reading his bio on wiki and I saw this
five years after Hinamori's departure, Hitsugaya encountered Rangiku Matsumoto, then a normal, unranked Soul Reaper, in a marketplace, when she stood up to a merchant who left his change on the counter, rather than handing it to him.

That night, Hitsugaya dreamt again of the icy plain and finally met Hyōrinmaru for the first time, though he could not hear the spirit's name. He woke up to find Rangiku admonishing him for not being able to control his power, which had been freezing his grandmother. She told him that power like his needed to be controlled, and convinced him to become a Soul Reaper.[2] With Hitsugaya's natural talent, he entered the Soul Reaper academy in spite of his age and became known as a prodigy, quickly ascending to captain of the 10th Division, ironically making him Rangiku's superior.

I can't remember this in the anime but I was wondering if it happened in the manga. I only started reading after soul arc

That was Bleach manga chapter -15, it was to introduce the Diamond Dust Rebellion movie. I don't recall that chapter being covered in the anime though.

just a side rant, but why the heck WOULDN'T they make an episode out of this? Back when I actually watched this show, I saw an episode about Hitsugaya playing soccer with Karin Kurosaki. His history isn't more anime-worthy? With all the filler they've had, I'm sure they could've squeezed it in, added a few scenes to make it a whole episode, and then they'd actually have an informative, useful filler episode in between fights.

i mean spread the story i dont mean make a huge filler and i know ichigo is the main character but come on bleach seems like it has no plot i mean no original plot okay so

aizen is the bad guy ichigo

is the good guy thats basically all there is they havent even showed every1s bankai or shikai yet why bring in so many characters if your just gonna have them stand there and fight one scene every 10 episodes

yeah I know what you are saying, and I'd love to know more about hitsugaya myself... since I feel like he is a kindred spirit... but I also don't want more people getting pissed about tite spending so much time on him...

I just dont' understand why they wouldn't animate his backstory. There's source material in the manga, and they easily could've thrown it in as a filler episode. Even the most ardent Hitsugaya haters (ZB) would rather see an informative episode about Hitsugaya than filler nonsense about Hanatarou working in a bakery or something.

I think that they might just do it right now. There's filler now covering stuff that's happened in the manga. This week had chapter 0.8 from the manga, for example. Next week will be the Bleach on the beach special, which also appeared on the manga. So, I think there's a good chance that that particular Hitsugaya chapter might be covered in a few weeks.
