About the recap time/fillers.

I'm quite sure most of you know by now that we'll be seeing another filler arc of bleach starting next week. Why is that, you ask? Well, I'm sure most of you already know this, but for those who don't, let me explain.

First, let's look at the number of bleach anime episodes so far... 226, right? Excluding 45 episodes of the bount arc and 21 episodes of the new captain Amagai Shusuke leaves us with 160 episodes of actual storyline (+/- a few extra Lurichiyo episodes).

Now, let's look at the number of manga chapters there were when the story reached this point.... The chapter Ichigo's and Ulquiorra's fight in Hueco Mundo commenced was #340.

So let's look at those numbers... 160 amine episodes = 340 manga chapters, give or take a few.... This means that the Anime is progressing over TWICE AS FAST. So what does this mean? Yes, the anime is constantly catching up with the manga. And what does the anime team do to counter this? They throw in that 6 minute recap everyone is whining about at the beginning of every episode so the anime wouldn't progress that fast. Still, that isn't enough... so this leaves the production team with two options; a) filler bleach, or b) no bleach.... And I'm quite sure that most of you would choose the first option.

So now it's time to face the facts and accept the truth. This is how things work. There's no changing it. If you comprehend what I just told you, you should understand why the anime team needs to do this. Sure, they could decide to put out a new episode only once a month... that would rid the need of filler arcs. I'd be fine with that... but I'm sure most of the fans would be disappointed. So if you really think about it, fillers really are the best solution. You just need to accept that. And if you are like me, and read both the manga and watch the anime, you really should have seen this new filler arc coming.

I'm pretty sure that most the people who bitch about stuff like recap and filler just never thought about this fact...

It's kind of an obvious point you've decided to bring up. The anime has been catching up to the manga at an alarming rate ever since the Amagai filler ended. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but there's literally 15 minutes of recap at the beginning of each episode, which in the Soul Society, Bounto, and Arrancar arcs never happened. They only had about 4 minutes of recap per episode. This was because Tite was about a year ahead of the anime when it came to the manga back then. That's no longer the case.

The recaps are the anime team's way of buying time for Tite to keep writing. This type of occurrence happens with all series that have an on-going manga at the same time as the anime. Just look at Naruto, same thing. It will most likely happen with Full Metal Alchemist as well, since the manga is still continuing, even though it's much further ahead than Bleach's and Narutos manga, the anime series always covers more chapters at a quicker pace.

I've never truly complained about fillers because I could really care less, since I mainly read the manga anyways. The anime is another outlet for a story that I already know what's going to happen. I just like to see how they put things into animation. I actually hope that these fillers last a while to take pressure off of Kubo, because you can tell how his writing and drawing change when he's rushed and pressured with deadlines.

This Zanpakuto arc looks cool anyways, so I'm kind of curious as to what kind of information about the relationship between a Shinigami and their Zanpakuto will be revealed. Even though it's non-canon, everything is in fact approved by Tite, and he has quite a great deal of control over the fillers of Bleach. So a lot of the info that we will be seeing may not be canon, but it's the concept that is.

I'm sorry to say you wasted your time. This has been obvious for a long time. I only complain at the Bleach manga because Tite throws away pages by drawing feets or drawing big pictures with no dialouge. This is why the anime is catching up because one chapter is 3-5 minutes of an episode. You just need to put two and two together, and you have your answer as to why there are so many Bleach fillers, especially the random ones...

yeah, I'm aware that most people here figured this out years ago. You'd really think this is common knowledge. I haven't posted on the BN forums before, but I have observed these boards since the day I joined the site, and time and time again I see people complaining, complaining and complaining about the recap times and fillers... so either people don't understand these facts or they are just a-holes with nothing better to do.... and now that I think about it, the latter seems more likely.

Most people who complain are asses with too much time on there hands. I'm a manga reader anyway so fillers actually give me something to look forward to when watching the anime and much like the other manga readers on here the anime is just another outlet to view something in which we already know the outcome. Just like in the fight against the Captain-Commander and Allon it was a cool fight in the manga but in the anime CC really owned.

Anyway, I don't watch the Bleach anime too much, but for the most part, I feel people's complaints aren't that fillers exist (they're a necessary evil), but that they suck. And everyone has the right to complain about something that sucks. I still want Michael Bay to give me my $12 back for paying to see Transformers 2.
