Bleach Aspect Ratio

Just curious, what is the current aspect ratio for Bleach? I am way behind in watching episodes. I have been down loading them from this site and I am around episode 70. So far they are all in 4:3 ratio. I was wondering if they had switched to 16:9 at any point? I assume that broadcast TV in Japan is converting to 16:9 like it is in the US?

Yes, DB switched to 16:9 ratio. I don't recall exactly which episode however, it's around 170 or so that's when they switched to widescreen version. Unless you have DVDs, you will not find a fansub release at 16:9 ratio for the old episodes. o.o

Is the current broadcast eps in 16:9 or is DB (I assume you mean the fansubber Dattebayo), stretching the original broadcast. I wouldn't want see the first eps in stretched mode anyway. Did they really do that when they made DVDs?

The video is not stretched and is in 16:9 ratio from the RAW. When they make DVD they usually make it upscale of the Aired TV. What I said was that if you want 16:9 ratio for all Bleach Episodes then the only possible source would be DVDs as they don't have a resolution restriction. o.o"
