i need some help understanding something

ok im in the middle of watching ep 111 where ichigo father is a shinigami, well how is that possible did he get his power like ichigo or was he part of the shinigamis to start out with, if so what division was he in, and if it tells me in a farther ep please dont spoil it for me i was just a little lost

They haven't really gotten that far into it. However, there are theories about Isshin being the original vessel for the Hougyuku. So he lost his Shinigami powers much like Rukia lost hers. Since the Hougyuku is no longer within him, he's starting to slowly regain his powers.


As for him being a Shinigami, it appears that he is a Full Blooded Shinigami, and has been living as a human in the World of The Living for almost 100 years.

this is one of the coolest things about bleach that Isshin is probably captain class without ichi even knowing it! btw Im drunk...so dont whine about typos!
