Macross Plus is a movie. There is a Macross series, though, which Robotech is partly based on.

I thought macross plus was the series that came out in 1994... are you all maybe thinking of macross zero... 5 eps, BEAUTIFUL! cg combat. absolutely amazing!

nah, i'm not thinking of macross zero. i'm pretty sure that macross zero was recent enough to not be released to VHS tapes.
