Does Urahara actually use a Gigai?

I actualy thought for a while that Ururu (and posibly Jinta) were mod souls of some kind too. Ururu def isn't likely a human, or at least a normal one, and though Jinta "acts" more human, I think there's something else going on with him too.

I agree that Tessai is probably a former shinigami too, esp. after reading the wikipedia description.

Back to gigai talk:
I never put much thought into the "gigai" thing myself, but now that you point it out, the only people that have ever seen him are, at the very least, "spiritually aware." We see him leaving for the store and stuff, but Tessai (and at one point Chad) always accompanies him and carries the stuff.
His clothes don't exactly resemble a shinigami's, but we have seen some significant variation in shinigami attire and regular members of SS can wear regular clothes, including ex- shinigami like Youroiki when she goes to the soul society.

Most of the time when we see characters like Matsumoto, Hitsuguya, "baldy", and "pretty-boy" shinigami in the real world wearing normal clothes, its usually because of the gigai their wearing. Mainly used for the purposes of going to schools, stores, etc. These gigai are made available by Urahara. We ahve all seen Urahara use a gigai as a fighting technique but to say that he uses it during "real life" travel would be very hard to debate fully.

On one hand there would be no real reason for him to wear it. Most of the chores and activities are taken care of by Jinta, Uryuu, and Tessai. It would be a more likely debate that Tessai is the one that continuously wears the gigai. I would agree that it is almost fact that he is a former shinigami. Especially since he uses kidou and binding spells that you only find in SS.

no he is smart enough to not use a gigai. i dont think theres a power limit on him btw.

this is confusing coz ... his clothes as a shinigami ...
and the clothes of his gigai .... looks the same ...

also the cane ... as a shinigami he would still use a cane
to sheath his sword ...
