[Bride of Lucifer]

Anyone ever read Angel Sanctuary? It's kind of long, twenty volumes, but worth it. It's really one of the most complex manga I've ever read. It's got a wide array of various characters that you just fall in love with, even the bad guys. I dunno, it was like that for me.

It's basically about Setsuna Mudo, a young half-English, half-Japanese high school boy who is in love with his sister, Sara Mudo. The manga gets waaaay more complicated as we are led to discover that Setsuna is the reincarnation of an angel named Alexiel, who was punished for rebelling against God. The manga eventually spans to include a sort of war between Heaven, Hell, and the Rebels, while Setsuna and his companions fight to get to the creator, or God.

I may do a terrible job of explaining because the manga's complexity is near impossible to explain well, but seriously, it is amazing. It's full of twists and subplots that will just keep you going. I couldn't put any volume down once I started reading. Sadly, there is no anime for it (yet, I like to believe), just three OVAs that only cover the first arc, which is only the first and maybe second volumes.

So, anyone here read the manga? Seen the three OVAs? Favorite characters? Favorite arcs? Speaking of the arcs, sometimes I didn't even fully understand every little nuance that was going on within the world of Angel Sanctuary. Some things were unintelligible to me, but I still kept going. I understood the story as a whole, even though there were a lot of minor subplots that were a bit confusing. The problem with Angel Sanctuary is that it has a lot of characters, and they are all important. Anyway, yeah. Discuss away, I guess. ^^
